Questo vicolo si trova in prossimità dalla chiesa di S. Maria della Luce. La denominazione di S.Maria della Luce, ed alche del vicolo, fu assegnata in seguito ad un evento miracoloso avvenuto nell'anno 1730. La leggenda narra che all'interno di una casa situata nel vicino vicolo delle Due Mole, sulla cui parete esterna era situata un'immagine di "Madonna con Bambino", un cieco invocò aiuto per aver udito rumori tipo caduta di calcinacci. Improvvisamente il poveretto "vide" sulla parete l'immagine della Vergine circondata di luce ed uscì fuori gridando, impazzito di gioia, "Luce, luce!". L'immagine divenne così oggetto di grande devozione ed altri due fedeli in preghiera ebbero in visione la "Vergine della Luce", come venne da allora denominato il dipinto, probabilmente proprio per aver ridato la "luce" a chi non la vedeva. In quello stesso anno i Padri Minimi di S.Francesco di Paola, ai quali dal 1728 papa Benedetto XIII aveva affidato la chiesa di "S.Salvatore", furono autorizzati da papa Clemente XII a staccare l'affresco dalla parete della casa ed a trasportarlo nella chiesa: con l'occasione, ma soprattutto grazie alle consistenti offerte dei fedeli che vollero così rendere l'edificio degno di ospitare la Sacra Immagine, la chiesa fu ricostruita sotto la direzione di Gabriele Valvassori e dedicata a S.Maria della Luce. Da allora il vicolo ha assunto questo nome in ricordo del miracolo che vi accadde
