Da qualche giorno i bramiti si sono fatti radi; sospettosi i coronati con le loro femmine. Un silenzio surreale riempie ogni anfratto del bosco squassato solo dalla fuga precipitosa di qualche cinghiale attraverso i rododendri. Improvviso un bramito cupo s'accende nella comba poco avanti… Affacciatomi sul crinale, pervaso dai profumi e dall'afrore trasportati dalla risalita delle correnti, m'incanto di fronte ad un cervo molto forte che s'allontana senza darmi il tempo… Sarà il caldo? Sarà terminato l'estro delle femmine? Quasi quasi, mi sdraio al sole. Penso sempre, quando mi rilasso senza pensieri ne paure su di un poggio assolato, su declivi circondati da boschi, che sono solo due quassù le specie a potersi permettere questo lusso: noi e….
