Siena, piazza del Campo, difronte alla famoso caffé-ristorante Nannini, vedo questi due giovani frati, e la reflex, prontamente fa click. Ho scoperto che si tratti di Missionari della Misericordia, ed ecco chi sono: Sono 1.071 sacerdoti «nominati esclusivamente dal Papa» e ai quali «personalmente verrà data facoltà di perdonare i peccati riservati alla Sede Apostolica». È tornato a spiegarlo l'arcivescovo Rino Fisichella, presidente del Pontificio Consiglio per la Promozione della Nuova Evangelizzazione nella conferenza stampa di presentazione dell'invio dei Missionari della Misericordia e della traslazione temporanea a Roma delle spoglie di San Pio da Pietrelcina e di San Leopoldo Mandi?. Che incarico hanno i missionari della Misericordia? «Sono sacerdoti che ricevono l'incarico del Papa di essere testimoni privilegiati nelle loro singole Chiese della straordinarietà dell'evento giubilare. E' solo il Papa che nomina questi Missionari, non i vescovi, e a loro affida il mandato di annunciare la bellezza della misericordia di Dio, ed essere confessori umili e sapienti, capaci di grande perdono per quanti si accostano alla Confessione.
