VIPERA DI REDI | VIPERA ASPIS FRANCISCIREDI | ASP VIPER - "Chi cerca trova" è una frase che in questo caso calza a pennello... Non so quante volte ho setacciato questo luogo, costituito da grandi ghiaioni e macereti, alla ricerca di rettili per il progetto del nuovo atlante degli Anfibi e Rettili del Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi... Ad ogni uscita contavo tante lucertole muraiole (Podercis muralis), raramente ho avuto la fortuna di incontrare qualche saettone (Zamenis longissimus), poi una sera sul punto del ritorno alla macchina trovai un orbettino (Anguis fragilis/veronensis)... Era comunque sempre un magro bottino viste le potenzialità dell'habitat... La cosa che non mi dava pace è che nessuno aveva ancora mai trovato una vipera, perchè non ero l'unico che aveva battuto questo luogo... Poi si chiuse la raccolta dati per l'atlante ma io per altri scopi di ricerca continuai a recarmi li... Una mattina di fine luglio la svolta, stavo percorrendo sempre il solito transetto quando fra le foglie secche a terra la vidi sgattaiolare via... Non mi sembrava vero, finalmente l'avevo trovata... Ero al settimo cielo, lei un po' meno, giusto il tempo di alcune foto e poi la lasciai andare all'interdo di un rifugio fra i sassi...
