Thanks Marco .. this comment makes me particularly happy seeing that I'm experimenting with a new technique, born for other purposes much more scenic, but that used with more "parsimony" seems to give great results in almost all situations ... from the landscape, to the macro, to the avifauna and not only .... ;-)
In 2 or 3 steps to "cascade" where you can intervene finding the right compromise .... the addition of extra sharpness at the end further improves its performance .... :-)
Once perfected it will be a valuable tool to be used more if necessary ... ;-)

Interesting ... If I can, I'd like to know what the 3 steps are to have this light-dark effect. I think the original file was already good ;-)
The final clarity without increasing clarity and contrast does not generate a little 'noise?

More than real steps, let's say that there are the various re-unions of the various levels up to go back to having only one, to which "eventually" add then the advanced sharpness ...
They are still in the experimental phase ... but for that seen, keeping threshold and radius "contained" can be exceeded without triggering large artifacts .... however, very manageable viewing 100% ...
If you have patience as soon as I have some time, adjust the various percentages (Work permitting ....: confused:) I'll do a tutorial and I'll send it to you .... ;-)
If you juggle levels, blending modes, advanced levels and opacity ... it's pretty simple ...
If you do not use them regularly, tell me ... I'll try to be more precise ... :-)

Your experiments, Paolo, always lead to excellent results!
The church is beautiful and you know it is one of the monuments that I prefer and you have well fixed in this shot that, beyond the artistic wealth, portrays it in its authentic function!
Very good, congratulations for the shot and for processing (then I ask lights to Marco !!!).
