Il cappellino con il fiocco scuro di taffetà scuro, esposto insieme all'altro in una vetrina di Corso Vittorio Emanuele, mi ha riportata alla mente villa La Cucciola sulle colline di Varese, residenza di Amalia Liana Cambiasi Negretti, in arte Liala. Il nome glielo cambiò D'Annunzio, cambiando la enne di Liana nella elle di Liala. Passai tre ore a parlare con questa vecchia signora novantenne, seduta su un poltroncina anni '30 in un angolo del suo studio, da dove si intravvedeva uno sbadiglio di lago. Difronte c'era una vetrinetta con un cappello identico a quello della foto e lei, mi spiegò con una punta di civetteria, che era quello che aveva indossato per una gita in macchina con il suo grande amore, il marchese Vittorio Centurione Scotto, asso dell'Aviazione militare, perito nel lago di Varese nel 1926, durante le prove della famosa Coppa Schneider. Tutto a villa «La cucciola», appartiene a un'altra epoca. I vecchi divani, i bicchieri pure impeccabili dell'aperitivo, la vecchia Tilla che da oltre cinquant'anni è al servizio delle «Signore», (Liala e le sue due figlie, Primavera e Serenella), lo studio d'antiquariato, rimasto com'era, con la libreria a vetrinette e coi segni zodiacali, le foto di famiglia alle pareti (il suocero fu per 25 anni Sovrintendente della Scala) e quelle di Italo Balbo e di D'Annunzio, con dedica, sulla scrivania di palissandro. Tutto, come quando, la gran dama comprò questo piccolo eremo di Paradiso. Liala era rimasta ferma a quei lontani anni, il progresso, la modernità non le appartenevano, nei suoi ricordi, nomi illustri di vecchia nobiltà, lei stessa per parte materna era nobile, ramo Odelscalchi, ancora nel 1990, mi disse che quando di sera, si sedeva a vedere la televisione, si metteva il suo filo di perle, si cambiava per la cena, anche se non aveva ospiti. Viveva immersa in quel suo vecchio mondo, retrò e un po' fané e pretendeva da tutti l'etichetta del bel tempo andato. Ho un ricordo molto dolce di questa signora, e quando morì nel 1995, a 98 anni per un ictus che la colse all'uscita dal parrucchiere, andai al suo funerale. Ha lasciato la sua macchina da scrivere, la sua biblioteca, le lettere e i giornali con cinquant'anni di interviste al comune di Varese che, l'ha ricambiata dedicandole una piazzetta. Liala bastonata dalla critica, con i suoi 82 romanzi e dieci milioni di copie vendute, credo faccia invidia a molti Soloni della penna. Commenti, consigli e critiche sempre super graditi. Grazie.
