A little 'time ago ... sent on October 11, 2012 (22:22) by Astro_kiara. 8 comments, 1520 views.

... many memories. Even my first approach to digital has been with similar equipment ... I'll take you one step of the same object taken from Briosco or Sormano (can not remember) in the not so distant 2009. Unfortunately at that time DSLRs were too expensive (at least for me) and then while on the one hand I took up with the old analog Nikon FE2, the other trying to make the most of my first compact Canon PowerShot A640.

I'd like to replace the old setup and try to shoot again driving with the NEQ6 (at the time he was driving and I had a EQ3.2).
If I can, will post on Juza my first astronomical image analog of 1998 ... 50mm New Polaris chased by hand (I did not have the tracking motors).

David, is not as horrible as M42, can not compete with mine! ;-)

[URL =] I'd like to replace the old setup

I sinceramnte no! The short achromatic refractor that I used had a chromatic aberration from manual (in the negative!) And EQ5 so full ranged only if breathed. Something a bit 'better I was with the other refractor 150mm f / 8, but there was already a step ahead because I had the camera and the EQ6, even though I still have all unguided exposures of 30-40 s. Some of these images are not so horrible, is there anything in the gallery of my deep-sky site.

my first astronomical image analog

Actually is quite "horror"! :-D:-D
But it is 1000 times better than my first M42, made on Agfa film 1000 almost twenty years ago ... I have to go and fish out ...

Monolitop76, I'd say to start you already have a nice kit! Not, however, take a cue from this photo, it was just a little "trick" to remember the crap that is produced at the beginning and equipement with a little 'botched!
Goodbye and good luck!
