In compagnia di un mio caro amico ci aggiriamo lungo il versante Nord-Ovest dell'Etna. Saliamo su un vecchio cratere avventizio ricoperto da una bellissima vegetazione e dalla cui sommità si può godere un panorama splendido. Il Sole ha ormai quasi descritto la sua parabola in cielo ed è pronto per prendersi il meritato riposo. Gli ultimi raggi della giornata accarezzano delicatamente parte del vulcano e la zona sommitale del cratere su cui mi trovo, contraddistinta dalla carcassa di un imponente albero che nonostante non sia più in vita riesce ancora ad abbellire e impreziosire questo luogo.
