con Canon EF 1.4x III, 1/800 f/5.6, ISO 5000, tripod. Parco naturale Adamello Brenta, Italy. Specie: Accipiter nisus

Oggi ho assistito a uno spettacolo raro. Questi sparviere femmina è stanco e depresso ! Ha appena tentato quasi una decina di attacchi ad una ghiandaia ! Tutti falliti : è proprio una schiappa ! Altopiano della Paganella

Today I have seen a rare show. These female sparrows are tired and depressed! He just tried nearly a dozen attacks on a jay! All failed: it's just a slap!

that combination, I did the same considerations as I set up for the deer, following the unfortunate attempts of a young sparrow to sneak the glands of a glade; no later than three days later in the same place I found a spear of achy and the others were gone. Eye, the sparrow is a formidable hunter and yours is a beautiful portrait: -or
just compliments

Hello Fbspora, Very beautiful image! This picture shows a young Sparrowhawk (Sparviere giovane) and maybe that can also explain why he didn't manage to catch the jay?! Young birds often need time to practice their hunting skills. Good luck on your photography and best wishes, Hans

It also happens to the best to fail, then, if they want to survive they improve. Superscatto.
