Dopo una giornata trascorsa sulla sommità del vulcano speravo di riprenderne l'attività al calare della notte. Purtroppo l'Etna ragiona con la sua testa e di sera ha deciso di riposarsi. Fa uno strano effetto trovarsi lì, letteralmente al suo cospetto, lontano da tutto e da tutti, in un ambiente alieno che si percepisce tale sin da quando ci metti i piedi sopra, ma che pervade i tuoi sensi soprattutto quando si è completamente soli, immersi in un silenzio irreale, rotto solamente dalle folate di vento che spesso sferzano ferocemente a quelle altitudini. Un mix ti timore/fascino che è difficile da spiegare. A sinistra in alto il Centrale da cui si vede del bagliore emesso da una blanda attività; frontalmente il NSEC che ha ormai smesso di alimentare la colata dalla bocca apertasi nel 2015 e che oggi ha dato vita ad un ulteriore cono vulcanico, soprannominato "u puttusiddu" o "cratere della sella".
