Il Tempio Romano di Evora, edificato circa 2000 anni fa,risale al I secolo d. C, epoca di Augusto. Il foro romano della città era consacrato al culto imperiale, in contrasto con una tradizione seicentesca che lo considerava consacrato alla dea Diana. Per questa ragione ancora oggi è impropriamente indicato come Tempio di Diana. Scavi recenti hanno rivelato che era circondato da un portico e da uno specchio d'acqua. Conserva ancora in piedi 14 delle originarie 26 colonne.
