White rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum). There are horrible statistics of how many rhino's are killed by poachers every week but we were lucky enough to see this giant specimen. When we first saw him he was facing away from us, partially hidden by bush and so large from behind that at first we thought he was an elephant. The largest rhino our ranger had every seen and estimated to weigh around 3500kg. A true gentle giant.
