La cimice rossonera, comunemente detta anche carabiniere[1] (Pyrrhocoris apterus Linnaeus, 1758), è un insetto eterottero della famiglia Pyrrhocoridae. Descrizione : L'insetto adulto è lungo 8-12 mm e presenta una colorazione aposematica rossa con disegni geometrici neri. Neanide : Le neanidi sono attere e presentano una livrea uniformemente rossa, con una unica macchia nera in prossimità del capo. Hanno abitudini gregarie e non è raro osservare grosse concentrazioni di esemplari. Biologia : È una specie fitofaga, che si nutre della linfa delle piante (soprattutto tigli e platani, ma anche noccioli, carpini, querce, oleandri e ibiscus) senza tuttavia causare grossi danni.
