Questo pesce non teme l'uomo, è di discrete dimensioni, tendenzialmente aggressivo. Le sue dimensioni e la dentatura lo rendono pericoloso per snorkelisti e subacquei che si avvicinino al nido gelosamente custodito dal maschio. Il Titano, non esita ad inseguire ed attaccare chiunque si avvicini alla prole. Questo pesce depone infatti le uova in grandi nidi circolari che tende a difendere con grande determinazione.
