It is not easy to make a darker sky in mid-afternoon in August. If I had used a grad filter in the context of this type would have gotten so a sky darker but the top half of the church. If I had underexposed I got the part right too dark and have that little bit of HDR that I have applied to lighten it is the best compromise for not compromising too much sky.
For a darker sky I'll have to schedule another visit to S. Galgano, maybe not in August and possibilimente the evening.
