Sono grotte di origine vulcanica (chiamate anche cavità reogenetiche) e si distinguono dalle altre cavità naturali per via della loro genesi.
Le grotte naturali originano in genere dall'azione fisica di erosione e/o dall'azione chimica di corrosione delle acque; processo che può durare centinaia di migliaia o addirittura milioni di anni.
La formazione di una grotta lavica invece avviene spesso nel lasso di una settimana, al massimo in alcuni mesi.
Sempre in riferimento alle grotte laviche bisogna poi distinguere tra cavità reogenetiche superficiali e cavità reogenetiche di frattura.
Le cavità reogenetiche superficiali sono appunto i tunnel di scorrimento (o di svuotamento) lavico.
Ne è un esempio la foto che ho pubblicato. La loro formazione avviene nel seguente modo: le colate laviche eruttate procedono sul terreno seguendone la linea di massima pendenza e solo in minima parte per effetto della spinta delle masse eruttate. Il materiale eruttato si solidifica con notevole rapidità costituendo argini e croste solide che racchiudono masse ancora calde ed in grado di fluire. Una volta cessata l'alimentazione dalle bocche effusive le caratteristiche di coibenza delle lave consentono alle masse fluide contenute all'interno dei tubi di continuare a scorrere e, grazie alla fuoriuscita dalle bocche effimere, di svuotarli parzialmente o completamente.
Le cavità reogenetiche di frattura sono invece delle cavità che si rinvengono nelle fratture eruttive (piuttosto frequenti sull'Etna), generate dallo scorrimento della lava verso la superficie (attraverso la roccia preesistente) e dal suo successivo riflusso verso l'interno quando cessa l'attività effusiva; oppure quando l'apparato eruttivo si evolve con l'apertura di nuove bocche effusive a quote inferiori.

Queste grotte con le "finestre" sul soffitto mi piacciono molto ma ho trovato solo quella di "serracozzo" vicino il rifugio Citelli, ho provato a fare qualche foto (niente a che vedere con le tue) e a chiedere consigli su come migliorare ma non ho avuto molte risposte.
Oltre a fare + esposizioni mi chiedevo se hai usato pure una lampada/flash per illuminare l'interno.
