Il caimano Jacarè un tempo era quasi completamente scomparso a causa dello sterminio ad opera dell'uomo per la sua pelle pregiata. Grazie agli interventi di tutela e protezione ora il rettile è tornato a ripopolare in massa le paludi del Pantanal.
