Nel mio ultimo viaggio, come ho scritto nella foto precedente, ho dato la precedenza assoluta all'aurora boreale; mi è costato tanti km e tanti posti saltati, ma alla fine ne è valsa la pena. Uno dei posti in cui non pensavo di tornare ed invece ho rivisitato è stato Hvikserkur, una delle rocce più famose dell'Islanda, una formazione basaltica alta 15m che si innalza nel mare (a seconda delle maree). Ci sono due leggende, una parla di un troll pietrificato, l'altra di un drago/dinosauro intento a mangiare e (ovviamente) finito pietrificato. Io ci vedo più un dinosauro che bruca l'erba se proprio si usa l'immaginazione. Un fotografo giapponese che ho conosciuto li (anche lui dormiva in macchina, abbiamo condiviso insieme 4 notti a caccia di aurore!) mi ha suggerito che volendo potrebbe sembrare anche un mezzo teschio che esce dal mare, e tutti i torti non ce l'ha! Il bello/brutto dei mesi freddi islandesi è che di ore di luce ce ne sono davvero poche, di conseguenza anche se stavo sveglio fino alle 4/5 di notte, il sole il giorno dopo sorgeva alle 11, quindi non soffrivo neanche troppo il sonno!
