Once upon a time...... Il porciglione, insieme al martin pescatore, e' uno di quei soggetti che piu' ci ha dato soddisfazioni durante la nostra "carriera" fotonaturalistica. Mai avremmo pensato che un uccello cosi' elusivo e, a quei tempi, poco fotografato si sarebbe prestato a modello per i nostri numerosi appostamenti fotografici. In realta' e' una specie abbastanza prevedibile ed e' cosi' possibile sfruttare, a vantaggio del fotografo, le sue abitudini. L'idea della foto in salto ci e' venuta, come in molti altri casi e per altre specie, durante uno dei nostri appostamenti. La giornata doveva essere dedicata alle foto del porciglione ripreso sott'acqua mentre cattura un pesciolino(nella galleria "20 years ago"), e cosi' effettivamente fu, ma mentre si avvicinava al capanno ed al set fotografico ad un certo punto si fermo', osservo' con attenzione uno stelo d'erba poi, d'improvviso, spicco' un gran balzo e catturo' un insetto. Sulle prime, io e Luigi rimanemmo sorpresi ma, dopo un attimo e uno sguardo d'intesa, capimmo che quella doveva essere la prossima foto. L'immagine ci consenti' di vincere il premio Airone-Fuji nell'anno....e chi se lo ricorda e' passato cosi' tanto tempo, ma non e' quella presentata perche' la vincitrice e' andata persa. Ora con il digitale, foto di questo genere sono all'ordine del giorno ma se qualcuno vuole confrontarsi con le difficolta' di quel tempo deve solo regolare gli ISO della sua digitale a 50, sensibilita' della mitica Fuji Velvia. In questo caso utilizzammo, oltre alla suddetta pellicola, un tokina 300mm 2,8 dal capanno e quattro lampeggiatori sunpak, tre a riduzione di potenza sul soggetto ed uno per lo sfondo.
