Sono sempre stato affascinato dal volo elegante e delicato delle calopteryx. Quando ho trovato un gruppo di queste posate sopra a delle foglie di rovo ai margini di un fosso, in attesa di lanciarsi sopra l'acqua per catturare i piccoli insetti di passaggio, ho cercato di trovare il sistema per poterle fotografare. Però al ritorno dalla caccia non sempre si posavano sulla foglia di partenza, ma a quelle adiacenti, per cui diventava molto difficile fotografarle. Ho quindi pensato di "costringerle" a posarsi su un posatoio da me preparato in un posto isolato, in modo che tornassero sempre su quello come spiegato nella foto precedente.
