Il Custer State Park è un bellissimo parco statale che si trova nelle Black Hills in South Dakota ed è percorso da tre Scenic Drive ognuna con caratteristiche differenti e con particolarità proprie.. Qui mi trovavo sulla Needles Highway, la tortuosa strada che collega le aree di Sylvan Lake e Legion Lake, passando anche attraverso strettissimi tunnel scavati nella roccia e sotto improbabili formazioni rocciose (dalle forme spesso divertenti!) da cui deriva il nome dell'highway stessa e, mentre stavo per l'appunto fotografando queste strane sculture naturali, ho sentito il caratteristico rombo di una Harley che sopraggiungeva ed ho immediatamente deciso di inserirla nello scatto quale testimonianza della folta presenza di biker in zona dovuta alla concomitanza del motoraduno annuale di Sturgis, probabilmente il più grande raduno di "Harleysti" al mondo. Ad aggiungere ulteriore interesse allo scatto è il fatto che il soggetto è una donna ed anche "generosa" nelle forme, in linea con le caratteristiche dei tanti bikers "oversize" che ho incrociato in zona!
