Ciao Giorgio,

Hello George,

why did you choose a black and white?
In other monochrome your shots (not matrimonialisti), we've found a way, in this ... I do not know.
To love me just a ... "because I liked it" :)

My question is once only to find out if there is something that escapes me from the technical point of view :)

Ciao Max.
Ciao caro.

Hello Max, when it leads to questions so special I can not help but draw on my feelings, so in this there is little science, I would say more empirical, and each has its own perceptions.
When I graduated in photography did the first experiments studio lighting on a table still life to an egg, coincidentally shooting in b / n.
The b / n emphasizes the elements, shapes, lines, gradients, in short, all that in a photo particolarti colorful saturations as it could have been in this case, would have definitely been oppressed and blinded by colors.
Her, the combination of colors, especially if complementary, usually causes a strong three-dimensionality of visual perception regardless of VERA three-dimensionality of the light and of the scene, a photo b / n instead UTILIZza only the light and the reflectance of the subject to acquire its own depth, in addition to the optical characteristics of recovery, of course.
Often dictates the choice between col / bn only because of necessity or compositional expression, this is not the case.
Hello dear.

And according to you, dear George, everything you gave us answering my question, is not anything technical?
Observe photos of landscapes in color, maybe even with a postproduction particularly cured me often dizzy because of the effect of three-dimensionality obtained - I thought - by post.

Instead I have always neglected the idea that it was also the result of a particular combination of colors.
Some time ago I saw an interview with Massimo Berruti, a photojournalist who has done several jobs in order to document the effects on civilians of recent wars. Crude images.

Berruti in the interview he said he went from color to shoot exclusively in b / n but not fully explained the reasons.
Your intervention is certainly exhaustive, and I permetyou look in a different light (monochrome) images.
