Siccome gli appostamenti per gli orsi iniziavano nel primo pomeriggio (a fine settembre dalle 15-16 alle 19), ho avuto tutte la mattinate libere per esplorare i dintorni di Kuusamo, spesso su belle sterrate che attraversavano la taiga o sfioravano pittoreschi laghetti e torrenti. Percorrendo una di queste strade ho trovato la sbarra che vedete: il confine con la Russia. Dall'altra parte la sterrata continua per molti chilometri (ho consultato una carta...ovviamente ho obbedito allo STOP e non ho varcato quel punto) in corrispondenza del grande Parco Nazionale Paanayarvi. Che dire? Speriamo che la calma ed il silenzio che ho goduto in quel luogo non venga mai turbato...
