Finalmente sono riuscito a riprendere in maniera decente questa splendida regione intorno al centro galattico. E' l'integrazione di 50 immagini da 60s ciascuna

Beautiful recovery as always Zeppo! This summer I hope to be able to devote myself to the milky way.
Congratulations! :-)

Very nice! How did you work for the colors? They are spectacular, that blue is rarely seen in a shot like this.

I think a lot depends on the excellent sky from which I took it, however I worked with the PI curves to remove the dominant and give it back its natural colors

Certainly!
So no algorithm to assign and calibrate colors based on the area of the sky, all manual wisdom :-)
Thanks for your reply and enjoy!

Yes, all by hand, but if you find an automatic method let me know... ;-)

I used -tried to use- pixinsight a couple of times, then I abandoned for lack of good material to work on, but I seem to remember there was a step in which once the area of the sky was recognized the colors were calibrated automatically thanks to some database :-o
Do I get confused with something else?

No, it's really pixinsight but in the case of the Milky Way I haven't figured out how to do it yet
