The Harley-Davidson was born in Milwaukee in 1902 when William Harley and Arthur Davidson of 21 years of 20, built a working prototype of motorized bicycle (we are in the very early years of the development of motorcycling), this medium was made in the garage of the house Davidson, measuring 3 meters by 5. The prototype worked and joined the company from the beginning Davidson's two brothers, William and Walter. In the first two years were only sold three copies. The Harley-Davidson was officially founded August 28, 1903 and this date can be traced officially the start of series production.
