Una delle foto scattate dal pallone sonda che ho lanciato a settembre, che ha raggiunto un altezza di oltre 41 km, realizzando le immagini da più in alto mai ottenute in Italia. Si vede lo stato blu, dell'atmosfera terrestre, e poi l'oscurita dello spazio, anche in pieno giorno. Le foto sono state catturate da un semplice Raspberry Pi collegato sotto al pallone.

Per quanto riguarda il recupero , ho utilizzato 3 radiosonde meteorologiche modificate, due all'interno di un contenitore con le fotocamere e una su un aeroplano di carta, che è caduto in mare, e trasmettono la posizione GPS a terra. Questo mi ha permesso di seguire il loro volo in tempo reale e di localizzarle per il recupero. Le radiosonde, sono lanciate dall'aeronautica ogni 12 ore per raccogliere dati meteorologici. Il test principale di questo era la trasmissione delle immagini durante il volo, ma a causa di un guasto ha smesso di funzionare dopo il decollo.

Per quanto riguarda il rischio di cadere su qualcuno, la sonda era dotate di un paracadute per rallentare la discesa, è molto leggera, essendo costruite principalmente in polistirolo. Comunque, ho scelto una zona isolata per l'atterraggio
