Marzo 2024. Focus stacking di 19 scatti, slitta elettronica, luce naturale. Era dal 2021, da quando ho cominciato, che non fotografavo un'ape del genere Nomada. Nonostante il vento di marzo, sono riuscito a portare a termine 5 focus stacking di cui questo è quello con il RR minore. A proposito di questi imenotteri, l'entomologo Guido Grandi scriveva: "Quasi tutti gli insetti nelle ore di inattività etologica entrano in uno stato di torpore ritenuto simile al nostro sonno, ma sulle caratteristiche fisiologiche del quale non abbiamo conoscenze precise. Certo si è che, mentre da un lato è possibile constatare come il fenomeno si presenti, generalmente, con modalità per lo meno apparentemente paragonabili a quelle del sonno dei Vertebrati, da un altro lato accade di osservare comportamenti che sembrerebbero piuttosto classificabili come stati ipnotici e quindi di acinesi. Basti ricordare, in proposito, le abitudini straordinarie di alcuni Imenotteri che..immobili su una graminacea, si tengono afferrati con le mandibole tenacemente chiuse, col corpo in posizione orizzontale, le antenne dritte ed irrigidite, le lunghe zampe medie e posteriori pendenti. In tale incredibile posizione, l'insetto sembra insensibile alle eccitazioni esterne..."
