In primo piano due guglie sull'angolo destro della facciata del Duomo. Su quella di sinistra c'è San Vitale; sulla guglia a destra Sant'Agricola. Dietro a quest'ultimo si intravvede San Genesio e al centro Sant'Abdon. Risalgono al XIX secolo, come la stragrande maggioranza delle statue e delle guglie del Duomo; ma quelle di San Vitale (scolpita nel 1809 dall'artista ticinese Donato Carabelli) e San Genesio sono copie realizzate nel dopoguerra da Mario Bassetti, scultore della Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo, in sostituzione delle originali distrutte dai bombardamenti del 1943. La luce del tramonto conferisce una tonalità dorata al marmo di Candoglia con cui è costruita la cattedrale.
