Il Santuario della Madonna di Prada (dal dialetto, “dei prati”) è situato all'esterno dall'abitato di Mapello, località dell'Isola Bergamasca, area delimitata dal fiume Brembo e Adda. Il santuario è immerso nella vasta pianura alle pendici orientali di Monte Canto, tuttora circondato da uno scenario naturale dall'alta valenza paesaggistica. Il santuario mariano di Prada è introdotto da un suggestivo viale alberato lungo ben 500 metri. Un primo oratorio venne probabilmente edificato già nel XIV secolo per poi essere ricostruito a fine 1400. La memoria popolare tramanda la tradizione secondo la quale la Vergine apparve a una fanciulla, lasciando come segno una sorgente di acqua prodigiosa che guarì numerosi ammalati. Questi straordinari eventi cessarono nel momento in cui una popolana osò lavare il suo cane con l'acqua benedetta. Agli inizi del XVIIII secolo la devozione si affievolì e si decise la muratura della nicchia con l'affresco della Madonna. Durante i lavori l'impalcatura crollò e questo fu interpretato come segno celeste e l'affresco tornò a essere oggetto di culto. L'interno è decorato da affreschi, realizzati nel 1956 dal pittore mapellese Natale Bertuletti
