Pensa che questa spiaggia, inserita tra le 10 più belle al mondo, era usata come poligono per l'addestramento dell'aviazione USA..... Ecco perché c'è quello (ed altri) Sherman.

Eppure..... Quelli sono Sherman residuati dalla 2a Guerra Mondiale usati come bersaglio. Pochi metri alle spalle di quello fotografato, dietro le palme, ce n'è uno intero e praticamente perfetto.
Su Culebra e soprattutto Vieques ci sono ancora delle porzioni enormi di territorio che non sono accessibili in quanto non ancora bonificate dagli ordigni. Tra queste, ci sono diverse spiagge da favola. In una, bellissima, avevamo le squadre di sminatori coi metal detector che posavano le bandierine a qualche centinaio di metri di distanza.
Sull'isola madre, Puerto Rico, la foresta di El Yunque (ora parco nazionale) era usata per provare il Napalm e l'agente Orange prima di usarli in Vietnam....
Sai dov'è la prima centrale atomica mai aperta dagli americani per uso civile? Proprio da quelle parti.
Questo potrebbe far pensare ad un certo atteggiamento degli USA verso i portoricani.... Pensa che anche lo status politico è controverso. Puerto Rico è incorporato nel territorio USA, federato, ma non è uno dei 51 stati che ne fanno parte. Quindi non è indipendente, ma nemmeno del tutto sotto il controllo politico/amministrativo. I suoi abitanti sono cittadini USA dal 1917, per poterli arruolare e mandarli a combattere nella 1a G.M., ma non votano per l'elezione del Presidente americano.

Yet ..... Those are remnants from the second World War Sherman used as a target. A few meters behind the photographed behind palm trees, there is one whole and perfect.
Culebra and Vieques especially there are still huge portions of land that are not accessible because it is not yet reclaimed ordnance. Among these, there are several fabulous beaches. In one, the beautiful, we had teams of deminers with metal detectors that rested flags a few hundred meters away.
Mother on the island, Puerto Rico, the forest of El Yunque (now National Park) was used to test the Napalm and Agent Orange in Vietnam before using them ....
Do you know where the first atomic power plant never opened by the Americans for civil use? Right there. wow!
This could suggest a certain attitude deglthe US to Puerto Ricans .... Do you think that the political status is controversial. Puerto Rico is incorporated into US territory, federal, but not one of the 51 states that are part of it. So it is not independent, but not entirely under the control of the political / administrative. Its inhabitants are US citizens since 1917, to enlist them and send them to fight in the first GM, but do not vote for the election of the American President.

Questo carrarmato poi l'avevo già visto prima di partire e sono andato apposta su questa spiaggia per fotografarlo.

anch io mi documento..io ho fatto un sacco di km su una strada a strapiompo per arrivare in una spiaggia sperduta di Fuerteventura perché avevo visto l american star arrugginita..una vecchia nave..ma mi sono informato male..nom c era piu..ahahah
