Vi siete mai chiesti cosa significhi la sigla FILA che si trova su matite ed altri strumenti di scrittura?
Questa è una scatola di matite databile almeno 1950 (o antecedente a tale epoca)e riporta stampigliata la sigla completa: Fabbrica Italiana Lapis Affini. Una delle eccellenze italiane!
Purtoppo le matite non sono originali, quelle che si trovavano nella scatoletta erano nere, tondeggianti e con la punta colorata di rosso (mi par di ricordare) e trattavasi di matite copiative.

Have you ever wondered: what does the acronym ROW located on pencils and other writing instruments?
This is a box of pencils dating from at least 1950 (or prior to that time) and shows the complete code stamped: Italian Factory Lapis Related. One of the Italian excellence!
Unfortunately pencils are not original, those who were in the box were black, with the tip rounded and colored red (I seem to remember) and was a matter of Carbonless pencils.

A me la parola lapis piace tantissimo, forse dovremmo riscoprire certi termini, e anceh certi modi di essere, un senso dell'onore, del rispetto, non come ora che per due lire non ci si vergogna di fare nulla e soprattutto noi che ormai tolleriamo tutto 50 anni fà avrebbero già ripulito tutto. Peccato per le matite sarebbe stato ancora più bello. 
I really like the word lapis, maybe we should discover certain terms and anceh certain ways of being, a sense of honor, respect, not like now that for two lire not ashamed to do anything and especially now that we tolerate around 50 years ago they would have cleaned it up. Quando ero alle elementari il mio maestro utilizzava sempre la parola "lapis" al posto della matita e non provocava alcun problema, anzi!
Mi ricordo che era estremamente puntiglioso quando utilizzavamo termini sciatti o dialettali e ci redarguiva con veemenza spingendoci a consultare il dizionario.
Una buona abitudine che mi ha facilitato non poco la vita!

When I was in elementary school my teacher always used the word "pencil" instead of pencil and did not cause any problem at all!
I remember it was extremely meticulous when we used slang terms or sloppy and we redarguiva vehemently urging us to consult the dictionary.
A good habit that helped me not just my life!
