Tagliare a dx secondo me non ha molto senso, per una serie di motivi...
a. la strada vuota, i fili della luce, ... raccontano qualcosa che credo sia utile nel contesto della foto. Non a caso la foto non e' postata su ritratti ma su fotogiornalismo.
b. distrae lo sguardo certo, ma e' quello che voglio. Una foto che si risolve al primo sguardo a parer mio non e' una buona foto.
c. da profondita' di campo.
d. ai fini compositivi, soprattutto perche' per scelta personale quando croppo una foto lo faccio sempre mantenendo le proprorzioni originali, e' funzionale alla corretta disposizione degli elementi del fotogramma.

Non avevo guardato la sezione in cui era collocata ma guardando la foto presumevo un ritratto ambientato in quanto la bimba è in posa.
