ISO 1600,

I do not mean astrophysics and I do not know if we can talk here about composition but the whole picture is harmonic ... Noise or no noise would be a shame to discard it! :-)

For noise, try to take more shots, open them as layers in Photoshop, manually align, convert to advanced object, and select the media merge method. Already with 3 to 5 identical shots remove much of the noise while preserving the details. Obviously they have to be the same as exposure and you have to align them well;)

Congratulations on the photo anyway.

Thank you guys for advice. To get this photo I took about thirty shots of 30 seconds to ISO 1600 more relative dark but did not sort out a lot. Unfortunately, light pollution has burdened not a little on the final result and obviously my poor technical skills did the rest but it was a good gym and I hope to catch up next winter!

Hello Emmanuel, sometimes the cure is worse than medicine, you have beautiful frames with all of Andromeda's gaseous extension, sin that denoising has aggressively affected the picture .... Another handicap that has DSS is that this program (now Obsolete even though it's free) kills the color of the stars and not just those ... In my opinion if you resume copying, you can do better, maybe ask some colleagues who use Pixinsight and take a hand in the project ( PI needs at least 8 darks) ... in my opinion the photo will change as day to night ;-) A greeting

Why not try to make some flat too? I agree with that written by my friend Beppe, by now DSS seems to have come to the terminus ... it is a shame that in order to use Pixinsight you have to spend some money, but believe it worth it !!!
If I can give you a tip: lower the camera iso ... 800 are more than good, then you should increase the exposure, 30 seconds are nothing .... and then align 10 frames by 5 minutes, for example, it is not How to align it 166 by 30 seconds !! The signal you receive is always for 30 seconds ... do you want to test? Line up 3 frames of 5 minutes and you'll see that the result will definitely be better than this !!
I hope I've been exhausted ... ;-)
A greeting
Riccardo

Pixinsight is spectacular, it costs but everyone is worth it.
I would also try to resume processing from scratch ;-)

Thanks again for the precious tips! Unfortunately, having no autoguide I had to limit myself to 30 seconds, therefore raising ISO accordingly but for the next winter I have already equipped and maybe I will also be able to use the CCD even if I wanted to do experiments with the D600 as well. Of course I will try to inform you about Pixinsight :-)
