Pyrgus malvoides (Elwes & Edwards, 1897) Scatto fresco fresco di domenica. Gli Esperidi sono caratterizzati da un volo rapido, mediante il quale passano di fiore in fiore. Questo tipo di volo è diverso da quello di tutti gli altri Lepidotteri, quindi risultano molto difficili da seguire. Hanno piccole dimensioni, con corpi paffuti somiglianti a quelli delle falene. Gli Esperidi d'Europa sono marroni, arancioni e grigi, con occhi bianchi. Durante la sosta possiedono una posizione caratteristica, mantenendo le ali chiuse verticalmente sopra il corpo, oppure con le ali posteriori orizzontali e le ali anteriori in parte chiuse sulle altre. I bruchi di questa famiglia sono di colore verde e possiedono peluria. In Europa se ne contano 40 specie, di cui 29 in Italia e tutte prediligono ambienti erbosi. Sverna come crisalide.
