Pontia edusa , l' orientale bagno bianco , è una farfalla della famiglia Pieridae . Descrizione : Pontia edusa è una piccola farfalla di medie dimensioni migranti, con una apertura alare di raggiungere circa 45 mm. La faccia superiore delle ali è di colore bianco, con macchie nere nella parte superiore della forewing e hindwing. Le parti inferiori delle ali posteriori presentano macchie di colore verde-grigio. La farfalla è quasi identico a Pontia daplidice . Le indagini dei genitali sono l'unico modo per distinguere tra questi due tipi. Gli adulti volano da marzo a ottobre [ 1 ] [ 2 ] con due a quattro generazioni a seconda della latitudine. Le uova vengono deposte singolarmente e hanno un periodo di incubazione di sette giorni. I bruchi sono presenti da maggio. Essi sono grigio-verdastro, con i puntini neri e larghe strisce gialle, molto simile al larva della farfalla di cavolo cappuccio ( Pieris brassicae ). Le larve si nutrono Resedaceae specie. Pontia edusa hibernates in fase di crisalide. Distribuzione : Si è constatato dal sud-est della Europa (Francia meridionale, Italia, Corsica, Sardegna) fino a centrale in Europa e Medio Oriente in Iran e in Iraq. Si tratta di un migrante che si possono incontrare anche in Belgio, Olanda, Germania settentrionale e la Polonia, nei paesi baltici e nel sud della Svezia e in Norvegia. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] Habitat : Questa specie può essere trovato in qualsiasi erboso aperto o aree fiorite, su terreni sassosi o rocciosi posti e bordi delle strade, specialmente dove le piante ospiti crescono, ad una altitudine of0-2,300 metri (0-7,546 piedi).
