Max, sì, penso che hai ragione. Aggiungerei che la "difficoltà" visuale sta in una sorta di divisione: da un lato il paesello ridente e dall'altra il bosco annebbiato. Per me il top sarebbe stato con un po' di nebbia anche tra le case. E a dirla tutta, poco prima c'era, solo che non c'era il sole 
Il taglio che hai proposto mi piace, toglie un po' di aria sotto però potrebbe starci

Poi io ho una mia filosofia -magari sbagliata - in cui nel mondo ognuno di noi ha degli estimatori e dei detrattori. Per i primi, no problem, invece i secondi bisogna un po' stuzzicarli se no si abbioccano. Se esco con degli scatti non top, in un mix di piemontese e alto bergamasco, iniziano a dire "Ecco.. varda lì, al wildvideo... al'ha sparà le due cartucce bune e l'è restà col fucile scarico..." poi, tatata gli sparo via lo scatto clou e rimangono così  
Ovviamente scherzo... per me, come immagino per molti di noi, la fotografia è solo un modo come un altro per onorare i momenti di magia.

Per quanto dici in riferimento alle critiche: è bene che ci siano perchè a volte ci fanno notare particolari che ci erano sfuggiti o errori che così eviteremo di commmettere in futuro. Alla fine, però secondo me, quello che conta é la soddisfazione per il nostro lavoro e la consapevolezza di aver fatto del nostro meglio per ottenere un'immagine che ci gratifichi per i nostri sforzi!!
