La Libythea celtis è una farfalla della famiglia Libytheidae . Non è facile fotografare le sue larve in quanto la pianta nutrice è il Celtis australis o Bagolaro un albero che può raggiungere i 20 mt. Questa è la seconda volta che incontriamo questa farfalla :)
The Libythea celtis is a butterfly of the family Libytheidae . It is not easy to photograph its larvae as the nurse plant is the Celtis australis or a Hackberry tree that can reach 20 meters. xDavide: la prima volta che l'abbiamo vista è stato in un parco cittadino a Genova, questa volta invece sulle alture del levante Genovese a circa 400 mslm. In quest'ultimo ambiente la vegetazione è piuttosto brulla, con alcuni lecci e corbezzolo.
Periodo di volo per quelle svernanti Marzo/Aprile, e poi Giugno/Settembre.
E' comunque legata alla distribuzione della sua pianta nutrice.

xDavide: The first time we saw her was in a city park in Genoa, but this time on the heights east of the Genovese about 400 meters above sea level. In this environment, the vegetation is rather bleak, with some oaks and arbutus.
Flight to the wintering period in March / April and then June / September.
It 'still linked to the distribution of its nurse plant.
