Lo sai che con le tue domande mi hai fatto venire tanta curiosità anche a me e quindi ho ricercato questa foto ...
Penso che con quest'altra inquadratura effettuata nello stesso luogo e nella stessa mattina anche se in un orario diverso ( la foto del cavaliere in oggetto è stata scattata alle ore 08,02 invece il gruppo alle ore 12,05 ) e con il 300 mm, anziché con una lente totale 1000mm, fuga ogni dubbio , l'acqua al livello del cavaliere singolo è più chiara, quello che apparentemente sembra cielo non è altro che l'acqua nello sfondo più scura e increspata , l'inquadratura diversa e lo sfuocato del 600mm portato a 1000mm a fatto il resto

l'obiettivo era leggermente un po inclinato in su rispetto al pelo acqua e quindi la focale lunga inquadrava solo l'acqua
e cavaliere dove si rifletteva il colore blu del cielo e la differenza tra il blu dei piedi e quello vicino alla testa era data dalle correnti d'aria che increspavano l'acqua creando una riflessione diversa di blu
come si vede nella ripresa con il 300

poi comprendo benissimo la tecnica del sottoesporre leggermente altrimenti si bruciano i bianchi
passando in Ps si possono recuperare nele ombre/meditoni aprendole un po

se piace, altrimenti va bene cosi'

Talvolta hai dei risultati che neppure te li aspetti e spesso con la logica non trovi una spiegazione appropriata .
Se guardi l'altra foto postata del cavaliere , il posto è il medesimo ma le alghe hanno invaso quasi tutto lo specchio d'acqua ,nonostante la ripresa a fior d'acqua il cielo non si vede e lo sfondo è dominato ( eccetto una piccola parte a sinistra ) dal giallastro delle alghe . Stando a una prima analisi e quel che si può pensare ,dato il punto di ripresa bassissimo si dovrebbe vedere anche parte di vegetazione e cielo dello sfondo invece questo è il risultato :
