Beautiful composition and B.N. with a caption that leads us to reflect what is the difference between man and animal. The animal in this case is the best friend of man, it serves for a miserable reward, a frugal meal, controls the flock and guards it, hard work as you said, but he is always the faithful friend of man, I dare not think otherwise as it would behave Man.
seeing the dog barking at you I think you'll be kept away, these specimens don't joke.
Bella really compliments Emme, a dedication to your land.
Hi Loris :-)

Sometimes to take a picture you have to risk, take the picture and then to go to the legs is the rule :-D

Hello Emme, beautiful and sad story at the same time, sometimes "man" thinks he is the center of the world and what revolves around him is expendable for his own good, we will learn sooner or later at our expense (and in part we are seeing already now) that we are not the cent Universe but only a part of esso....ne more, less important than any other living being of the whole cosmos.
The photo is for sure a beautiful picture, as always are the images that you propose, rich in meaning, of Patos and........ of beautiful women :-D
Many compliments
a hug
Pierpaolo ;-)

Hello Emme, your photo and caption touched my heart, Saturday died my Pimpa, a sweet Labrador, a faithful friend who kept me company during work and accompanied me in walks in the mountains, always faithful and happy, even in his last hours , as I looked into her eyes she wagged me even though she suffered a lot, their devotion to the master is incredible, she left a big void in our family.
Pultoo Your story is very sad, just a little to make a dog happy.

Dearest Andrea I had and I have many dogs, now I have three, many I saw them die and they looked me in the eye with great love even in the hour of death despite their sufferings and I remember their sweet smell while they died and I stroked them , they wanted me more good than men and I hope one day to find them, my dear friend I hope that you will find one day and you can run together, you are close in this moment of pain and I cry for you and your dog, a big hug

Thanks my friend, share certain moments with who understands you is of great relief, even for me is not the first time, I have 54 years and from 52 I have always had dogs, it is always a great pain their detachment.

My brother who is married and has no children, a few months ago, when he died the dog that now was old and sick for years, closed with his wife in a sad mourning for a long time did not want to receive no condolences and did not want other dogs to not have to suffer so D I new, then one day they gave him a puppy and life is restarted, there is more of my POPs has always had the same dog for fifty years to this part an Italian Bracco always with the same name, the mythical Ubaldo, when he dies the dog he returns to Tuscany s Empre from the same farm and takes a puppy of Bracco Italian and always calls him with the same name, so he succeeds in mourning because he has always lived in symbiosis with his dog, still a hug Andrea

For my sensitivity this photo does not speak solely of the dog. To the moving story of Emmagiu, narrator of rare efficacy, we add an almost inevitable anthropomorphization (on my part) of the figure of the dog itself: I see it symbolically representing the stoic fidelity to the altruistic role of defending. A destiny accepted by the dog with the simplicity of its whole being. He knows almost spiritual. Doubly touching.

Thanks Infinite Alten, I really like your interpretation the dog is able to donate life to defend the sheep impossible to take them away unless you kill the dog, the sacrifice of sacrificing to defend others is a characteristic of a few humans but of many Dogs, let's draw the consequences, I inform you that this night I will most likely publish something that I hope attracts your attention, then you will say in the meantime good evening my friend

Well. Thank you for qualifying me "friend" and for liking "you".
very well. Several reciprocal presentations have occurred, I lay down the formalities.
Fine. Depongo (temporarily) also photography and art; Indeed I lay down everything I have to go back to the high task of preparing polenta and codfish. With Onions.
I'll come back later for your new photos.

Ahahaha But the photograph if it is your pleasure and you have sensitivity as in fact you have the rules to make beautiful photos you learn quickly but I think you know them already, it is only to apply them with digital that is much simpler :-P

... I have to say that even in the kitchen I have my detractors.
Near Me (too close) at the moment there is a friend of mine; he tilted his head on the right, he tightened his eyes and staring at me with a strange look that until today I did not know. He wields the sodium bicarbonate box and now he's shaking it in front of my nose.
Many photographers would consider it a good subject for a set portrait.
to me instead-I do not know why-comes to mind the German expressionism.
