Se vi capita di andare a Parigi, non dimenticate di fare quattro passi in questa via, considerata una delle più antiche vie della capitale francese. Qualche cenno storico:La strada in epoca romana era un viottolo che collegava Lutetia a Fontainebleau. E' stato aperto nel 1202 e l'origine del suo nome si riferisce alla vecchia chiusa detta di Garland, che costeggiava la proprietà della famiglia di Garland, favorita del re Luigi VI, che possedeva un podere coltivato a vite. La documentazione fiscale dal 1292 riporta che la strada era molto commerciale, ed ospitava la rappresentanza di 16 diversi mestieri Oggi, è una strada molto frequentata, piena di bistrot e ristoranti tipici. Se vi trovate a passare per la rue Galande, nel V arrondissement, alzate lo sguardo verso la facciata del numero 42, potrete osservare un bassorilievo medievale che risale al XIV secolo.
