Vorrei avvicinarmi ala foto subacquea e pensavo di partire proprio da una Canon g12 scafandrata usata di un amico che la cambia. Mi chiedo che tipo di illuminatore/flash occorre accoppiare per avere una buona resa. E se per le foto di scenario, non avendo la G12 alcun software di compensazione del colore la cosa si risolve in postproduzione scattando in raw.
Se hai tempo e voglia... ovviamente.

Ciao Mhassifrance, grazie del gentile commento. Io uso un flash Sea&Sea YS 110 alfa, non è più in produzione, è stato sostituito mi pare dall' YS D1 o D2. Ce ne sono ottimi anche di altre aziende, io ho scelto questo perché ne avevo già un modello della stessa marca di potenza minore e mi ero trovato bene; era uno dei più diffusi anche fra gli amici, è molto affidabile. Permette il collegamento sia con cavo a fibra ottica che con il 5 PIN tipo Nikonos; in questo secondo caso lavora solo in manuale, e puo' dosare la potenza del lampo, che torna utile quando si scatta in macro; ha anche una piccola luce di schiarita. Per ottenere i migliori risultati veramente sarebbe meglio averne 2, uno dei quali da usare in slave, pero' aumentano gli ingombri (e i costi), lì dipende da quanto si è disposti a sacrificare in termini di praticità. Io me la cavo con uno anche perché il contenimento degli ingombri è forse il motivo principale per cui uso una compatta invece della reflex. Il flash è la soluzione migliore per la fotosub; ti sconsiglio un illuminatore, qualunque sia la potenza, perché i risultati sono di solito deludenti; come congela il movimento il lampo del flash è un'altra cosa. Io ho anche scattato a volte qualche foto sfruttando le luminarie del mio amico che gira video, ma la definizione è minore, la macchina ha qualche difficoltà a misurare la luce e tende a sovraesporre. Se vai nelle mie gallerie, sono state ottenute così l'immagine del polpo che fa la ruota, quell'altro che è stretto in un angolo e si allarga a ventaglio, non mi ricordo il titolo, e uno dei cerianthi, quello con i colori più caldi. Ma, ripeto, per qualcuna che viene fuori discretamente, la maggior parte si devono buttare, va molto meglio con il flash. La G12 è ancora un'ottima macchina, ti troverai bene: scatta in manuale, in RAW, ha una resa stupefacente in macro; uno dei pochi difetti che le trovo è quello di non potere chiudere più di f8; quando si sta a bassa profondità e la luce è forte la cosa è seccante. Pensa che quando avevo la Canon da poco e me ne sono accorto credevo fosse difettosa la mia, invece poi ho approfondito su internet e ho scoperto che è una scelta progettuale, se dai un'occhiata su Google spiegano anche il motivo, io l'ho letto ma non me lo ricordo più. Un punto debole è il display orientabile, conviene lasciarlo sempre aperto e non girarlo spesso perché con l'uso si blocca, si vede che la connessione con il corpo macchina non è fatta molto bene. A me è successo in immersione, pensavo si fosse guastata la macchina, invece poi ho scoperto che funzionava, ma il monitor si spegneva. Lasciando lo schermo buono e tranquillo non succede niente .
