Grazie per le info non sapevo delle due specie, mi documenterò. Sarà anche comune come dici tu ma dal 2005, anno della foto, sono ritornato in Kenya almeno 8 volte battendo tutti i parchi tranne il Samburu e non ne ho mai più visto uno.

il Necrosyrtes monachus è stato di recente classificato in via di estinzione da BIRDLIFEINTERNATIONAL

in Etiopia l'ho trovato molto comune rispetto ad altri paesi africani che ho girato quali Nigeria, Camerun, Senegal.

A dire il vero credo sia più corretto dire che è potenzialmente a rischio per una serie di fattori ma dice anche che bisognerebbe fare una valutazione scientifica dell' andamento della popolazione.
Tra i fattori a rischio ad esempio si parla di perdita dell' ambiente ma chiunque è andato in Etiopia ha visto che prosperano all' interno dei villaggi e delle città quasi come fossero piccioni.
Per di più sullo stesso sito è riportato correttamente il numero stimato di 197.000 esemplari che al momento non lo collocano certo tra gli animali ne particolarmente raro ne in un imminente rischio di estinzione...
Questo ovviamente non vuol dire che si debbano sottovalutare i rischi per il futuro.

Concordo con Memy che probabilmente non è specie particolarmente a rischi, come invece è certamente i Neophron percnopterus in Italia l'hanno scorso erano presenti non più di 6-10 coppie, anche nel resto del suo areale non se la passa bene, tenete presente che è specie ad areale soprattutto del Paleartico, quindi maggiormente a rischio per le trasformazioni ambientali, attorno al bacino del Mediterraneo, è diminuita di circa il 50% nelle ultime tre generazioni (42 anni). In Europa sono stimate attualmente 2.600/3.100 coppie. solo in Spagna esiste una popolazione significativa 1.320-1.475 coppie , ma anche lì ha problemi,
