Thanks to all the passage :-)

Because some concerns that were told to me, I want to make some clarifications:

1) During the approach, the subject has not been disturbed or, at least, showed no signs of nervousness;
I kept about 40 photographs depicting the subject in the same position from a distance of 4 meters to 1 meter. The nightjar has not moved a single centimeter.
Being virtually full frame and, not wanting to cause further "noise" to the subject, I have not found it necessary to advance further to test the confidence and the degree of tolerance of the same.

2) During the removal I crawled backwards (andro still kneeling) for over 2 meters. At that point, I got up slowly, I raised the tripod and I moved to a distance of about 8-9 meters, where I stopped to pick up a backpack that I had placed on the ground. The nightjar is left in place without taking flight.

3) Even if there will not be need for transparency and fairness put at the disposal of the moderators of this forum Raw files to verify the room date (exif).

To conclude, I believe it is the excessive proximity to disturb a subject (if this can be reached in the right way, at the right time and in the absolute silence). You can do more mess to 5-6 meters, breaking a dry branch or rubbing against a tripod bush ... all things that I had to avoid making ;-)

Greetings and lots of good light at all :-)

Thanks Alessandro. This year, it went wrong ,,, except for a quick meeting, I am no longer able to see him. Although, judging by the signs of the passage of cars to 4 meters away from his "roost", I think it was overly bothered by the usual photographers with Pass and can freely enter by car in a protected area: - /

: -o Scary! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, amazing the situation in which you made the recovery and very good to have it identified. So much envy.
