Thanks Riki, Cristian and Cla. As you can see, the Owls are my favorite, and to photograph you must know them well and have a lot of patience and dedication. In any case the sacrifices always have a reward! :-)

I am not competent ... the animal world (as you can see from my pictures based on other subjects) and I confess that the "Owls" I bring a little 'anxiety ...... But beyond what is one strigide ( it says so?) ... I like aesthetically your photos. I agree with many naturalists (I repeat, even though I was not an authority) that the photos have a relative meaning in "documenting" animal life, since there is nothing that has not already been photographed, and then many books on zoology make use of drawings rather than photos. But it is undeniable that the photos, rather than say something new, all serve to stimulate in us a love for nature, for the spaces and unspoiled charm to this world from whom the compared. This your photos are really up to. Compliments

Matthew thank you very much, your comment flatters me much ... :-) I do not think I got so high here on the forum there are people who are of another planet! :-D:-D

Claudio thanks again, the Owls unfortunately have a bad reputation, mainly due to the superstitions of the past, when the cemeteries were simple plots of the villages in the fields and the wooden crosses planted on the ground offering excellent perches from where the owls hunted rodents. The vision of these birds laid on top of the crosses gave way to all these maledicenze fact Strigiformes literally means bird in the shape of hag (as I called the gallery). This, however, should not mislead because birds are not malignant and do not carry absolutely bad luck. Nowadays things are improving through increased knowledgetion to these subjects and we are slowly abandoning the old superstitions. Now you know that they are extremely useful for the control of rodents and hear them sing at night is not a bad omen, but a good omen. :-)

Finally, I conclude by saying that now very little has not been photographed and you already know all about the life of most animals. But the purpose for which the photographer is not about new discoveries, but rather in my small try to make known to friends, relatives or acquaintances aspects of a nature to be respected and protected. I take inspiration from the great nature photographers who work for the preservation and awareness and without any pretension try to do my best. When showing a photo of someone I would say: "Nice, I've never seen" or "do not know" then a few words on the matter is well spent for raccontare what kind of animal it is and what is its role in the ecosystem and all this makes me feel accomplished for doing a good thing! :-)

Knowledge is the first step to a good conservation of the environment in which we live. :-)

I absolutely agree with you and it was exactly what I expressed in my previous comment. We need more knowledge and more respect for the world in which we live. Congratulations again, I think you have a clear idea and that the photos you know how to do. Claudio
