S.Lorenzo è il santo patrono dell'abitato di Chianale in alta Valle Varaita. La Parrocchiale del XVIII s. a lui dedicata è al centro del borgo. Il 10 agosto, nel pieno dell'estate turistica della valle, si festeggia questa ricorrenza che richiama da sempre un folto pubblico. Si può assistere alla S.Messa, alla Processione con i costumi tradizionali, ad un incanto il cui ricavato è destinato al recupero dei locali edifici religiosi.La giornata è allietata dalla presenza di un mercatino e da danze tradizionali. Chianale è inserito nell'Associazione dei più bei Borghi d'Italia.
