Chiesa Parrocchiale di Loiano… sull' Appennino Bolognese… dedicata a San Giacomo e a Santa Margherita. La Chiesa visibile nella fotografia fu edificata a partire dal 1615 dove prima sorgeva un convento denominato Ara della Corona ed in cui alloggiavano dei frati appartenenti all' Ordine degli Eremitani di Sant' Agostino che lo avevano costruito a partire dal 1324. Nel 1517 vennero apportate modifiche alla struttura aggiungendo una parte dove poteva disporsi il coro e fu istallato un' organo a canne: venne pure edificato il campanile… precedentemente mancante. Nel 1931 vennero apportate nuove modifiche dove anche la facciata assunse l'attuale aspetto… ispirato alla Chiesa del Gesù locata in Roma. In un testo del 1366 è citata la Chiesa di Santa Margherita... anche detta della Fabbraia... che nel 1447 venne rinominata Santa Margherita di Loiano… pur essendo locata nei pressi di Scanello… una località appena fuori dal centro abitato. Nei primi anni del 1800 la costruzione venne abbandonata a causa dell' avvenuta precarietà strutturale (oggi non esiste più) così l' intitolazione di Santa Margherita venne accorpata a quella di San Giacomo nella Chiesa visibile in questa fotografia.
