Essendo sempre più numerosi i doni da consegnare nel Periodo Natalizio da un po' di anni Babbo Natale viene aiutato da alcuni gnomi provenienti da una piccola e molto disponibile comunità che vive in Lapponia… a poca distanza dalla sua abitazione. Di sovente questi improvvisati collaboratori… durante alcune delle tante soste dovute alle consegne… vengono rifocillati da chi riceve i doni e può capitare che assieme ad alcuni ottimi biscotti e deliziosi dolcetti preparati nel precedente pomeriggio in casa... e accompagnati da una buona tazza di caffè o tè caldo con dentro del miele... venga pure loro offerto qualche bicchierino di punch all'arancia, rosolio o anche alchermes. E' risaputo che diversi di questi collaboratori sono un po' golosetti così… approfittando anche della scusa che la stagione è molto fredda… non si tirano frettolosamente indietro dinnanzi a certe offerte fatte loro finché può capitare che dopo diversi assaggi e brindisi le loro menti non siano più propriamente lucide così che alcuni regali non vengano poi consegnati alla loro esatta destinazione ma finiscano in altre mani con il risultato che in seguito a Babbo Natale arriveranno diverse lamentele. Costui… che è molto anziano e saggio… è pure un buon conoscitore di tutti questi suoi aiutanti... così non vi mette molto tempo per capire chi sono stati coloro che non hanno ben adempiuto al loro compito… anche perché agli gnomi che hanno ben brindato il nasino si colora di rosso. Individuati i responsabili… che hanno mostrato un po' di pentimento e ammesso le loro debolezze… costoro sono stati condannati a rimanere esposti per alcuni giorni… fino a che il colore del loro apparato olfattivo ritorni ad essere del classico colore rosa pallido… e così che pure la loro vista serva di monito agli altri aiutanti perché mantengano un più adeguato e dignitoso comportamento nei Natali a venire. Questa favoletta... dal sapore ingenuo... vuole porre l'attenzione su coloro che… in occasione di festività più o meno importanti… e non solo… alzano un tantino il gomito oltre la soglia e… a differenza di coloro che hanno sbagliato il recapito nella consegna dei regali… possono mettere a repentaglio la vita degli altri… oltre che naturalmente la propria. Questo perché... se gli gnomi per trasportare i doni utilizzano dei carrettini trainati da lenti e compiacenti animaletti... noi invece sfrecciamo sulle strade a bordo di mezzi sempre più veloci che… se da noi mal governati… anche a causa dell' ingestione smodata di bevande alcooliche e non solo… diventano estremamente pericolosi nonché fonti di inimmaginabili e molto preoccupanti disastri in quanto la vita che ci è stata donata è una sola... a differenza dei mici di cui si racconta che ne abbiano a disposizione ben sette... e che sarebbero addirittura nove... secondo alcune credenze arrivate fino a noi dalla cultura dell' antico Egitto.
