L'ingegnere Mauro Forghieri... nato a Modena il 13 gennaio 1935... ha lasciato questa nostra vita il 2 novembre 2022... andando a raggiungere Enzo, Niki, Gilles e Clay. Conosciuto anche come "Furia"... si era laureato in ingegneria meccanica nel 1959 presso l'Università di Bologna e fu progettista e direttore tecnico della Scuderia Ferrari di Formula 1 dal 1962 al 1971 e poi dal 1973 al 1984. In questa categoria e sotto la sua direzione vennero vinti 4 Titoli per il Campionato Mondiale Piloti e ben 7 per il Campionato Mondiale Costruttori. Altri Titoli Mondiali… con vetture di sua progettazione… furono vinti nel Campionato Mondiale Marche detto anche Campionato del Mondo Sport Prototipi e nel Campionato Europeo della Montagna. Lasciato l'incarico in Ferrari… nel 1987… Forghieri entrò nel Team Lamborghini Engineering quando codesto tentò l'avventura in Formula 1 con il Modena Team mentre nel triennio 1992-94 ricoprì l'incarico di direttore tecnico della rinata Bugatti a Campogalliano (Mo) dove venne prodotta la vettura sportiva EB 110. La Ferrari 312 T4 visibile nella fotografia… e sempre da Mauro progettata… è una delle 5 prodotte per partecipare al Campionato di Formula 1 del 1979 (la sua denominazione completa era Ferrari 312 T4/041) e fu utilizzata con il numero di gara 12 in 6 corse… di cui una vinta… da Gilles Villeneuve: attualmente fa parte della collezione del Museo Cantina Giacobazzi Gavioli sito a Nonantola… in provincia di Modena. Nel 1979… con queste vetture… la Scuderia Ferrari si aggiudicò sia il Campionato Mondiale Costruttori che il Campionato Mondiale Piloti… codesto vinto con la vettura che portava il numero di gara 11 e condotta da Jody Scheckter (classe 1950). La 312 T4 fu la prima vettura Ferrari partecipante al Campionato del Mondo di Formula 1 dotata di minigonne laterali che... permettendo una maggiore aderenza al suolo... facilitavano il raggiungimento della velocità massima di circa 320 chilometri orari con maggior sicurezza e per la sua messa a punto venne utilizzata anche la galleria del vento della Pininfarina sita a Grugliasco… in provincia di Torino. La sigla 312 T4... che identifica la motorizzazione della vettura... significa: 3 per la cilindrata di 3000 cm3, 12 per il numero dei cilindri, T per il cambio disposto trasversalmente e 4 perché è la quarta evoluzione del modello 312… la penultima. La reale cilindrata di codesto propulsore... la cui identificazione è Ferrari modello 015... era di 2992 cm3 contenuti in 12 cilindri in configurazione boxer (cilindri contrapposti di 180°) mentre la potenza massima sviluppata era di circa 515 cavalli. Gilles Joseph Henri Villeneuve era nato a Saint Jean sur Richelieu nella provincia del Quèbec, in Canada, l' 8 gennaio del 1950 ma solitamente raccontava di essere nato nel 1952. Nella sua carriera sulle Rosse Vetture di Maranello partecipò a 66 Gran Premi vincendone 6 e salendo sul podio 13 volte. Sabato 8 maggio 1982... durante le qualifiche del Gran Premio del Belgio... che si sarebbe svolto il giorno dopo sul circuito di Zolder... Gilles impattò posteriormente la March 821 a motore Cosworth DFW condotta dal tedesco Jochen Mass che lo precedeva e che aveva improvvisamente cambiato la sua traiettoria ed a seguito delle gravi ferite riportate lasciò per sempre questa nostra vita terrena.
