at 105mm, 1/800 f/14.0, ISO 200, hand held. Berlin, Germany.

Nice game of geometries and colors that the tree well placed in the composition breaks and strengthens, much better the post than the previous version, personally I would trim right and top but we are in the tastes
Compliments, hello

I, like you, have learned so much indeed from this forum.
All my post production is virtually non-existent or otherwise equal to that allowed by the jpeg file, since I shoot exclusively in that format.
Opt the proposed shot, very pleasant the rendering of the colors, as usual.
a warm greeting.

Geometry and colors, winning combination, I agree with Catherine, congratulations Paul.

I haven't seen the other version, but this photo is really beautiful: a different and original shot of an iconic place in Berlin. Here, too, you've been able to find some color in so much grey! ;-)
The post is an integral part of the photographic process: as in everything else it is the "dosing" that can make the end result elegant or tacky. Here you have definitely succeeded in creating a good photo!

A well-crafted composition
I share your caption, also because instead of improving it I made it worse
Good Sunday

Beautiful Your work for an image that with that strong contrast of colors (yellow that prevails over the gray of the monument)still gives hope in a better tomorrow.

Hello, beautiful shot!
I immediately hit the photo because I recognized the place I visited a few months ago...
I found the description very interesting and the comparison with the original photo: I find that the pp work done in this version enhances its geometries, colors and contrast with the dark blocks in the foreground.

A beautiful composition well made and well proposed, A set of different geometric figures, interrupted by a thick green chona that instead of "disturbing", actively collaborates harmonizing the photo as a whole, also because it seems to have a large black trunk and among the foliage, my "pareidoliaca deformation", leads me to see a beautiful face that scrutinizes the surrounding environment ... congratulations Paul.
A warm greeting and good Sunday.

After reading the caption I prefer to comment before seeing the original photo.... I really like the contrast between the yellow color, gray and shadows, a flat image that takes movement from the diagonal of the blocks, as I always say you have to have been on the spot to be able to judge a shot and stay in the film field, to my taste I would have dared a narrower cut at the time of composition looking for an angle to increase the diagonal and contrast with the blocks, in essence I do not like the elements that frame the building and that look away from the composition
But Sunday

Excellent composition, rich in shapes, geometries and colors. I read the caption with interest and visited the first version of this photo. In essence it does not change much, but I have to admit that this version has an extra touch. I share, in general, your observations, I also have preserved the habit of composing and shooting as if I was still dealing with the slide, although I must admit that knowing how to use, even if only in a rudimentary way, the fundamentals of post production, sometimes allows you to save a photo.
Hello Paul.

I subscribe to every single word of yours, even if it means declaring your age! :-D
I have to revisit every now and then and re-enact old shots ... After all, this is the "beautiful" of digital!
