Doctors on the front line 1 sent on April 25, 2020 (19:54) by Sergio Bartolomeo. 99 comments, 1287 views.

Hello Gios, I am very pleased with your approval to my message launched with these photos and with the thought in the caption addressed in particular to the sanitary, but extended to all those who defend our health. I now know your sensitivity and attention to social problems, so I take your words with such gratitude
Thanks a thousand also in helping to locate these images that Roberto Carrano and Sergio Albieri and then Mansu have located in Cto on Caprile, belonging to the municipality of Alleghe and in the background the Mount Owl. So we're in Bellunese.
A great greeting and good first May :-P

Thank you Massimo, I'm glad you like this picture. Like the others in the collection, she is jealously guarded on some albums of the time. Family albums that have surpassed and surpassed the century of life. Documents with particular affective, as well as historical, value.
Thanks a thousand, a dear greeting

Great memories Sergio and above all perfect the juxtaposition with the sanitary on the front line at this time.
On the background is the Owl, the photo was taken near Alleghe. Thank you for sharing.
CIAO, Gastone. ;-)

Thank you very much Gastone, I am happy you appreciated the photo and shared the thoughts to the doctors who have always defended our homeland.
Thanks a lot also for the location details of the shot. Valuable information for me, living in Sicily, far away, then from the places of my wife's great-uncle (the author of the photo: the one sitting on the ground, with the moustaches in the center of the image)
A great greeting

They are important and beautiful documents of a past in which my grandfather also participated, he was on the Asiago plateau and then he was captured in Caporetto and taken to the prison camps on the Balkans.
Beautiful your initiative
A big hug

Tribute to our ancestors who fought for our Beautiful Italy. Tribute also to your grandfather and all those who ended up in the prison camps. Places that so many other victims have reaped.
Ito you liked and shared this document, fragment of history.

Hi RobertoTR, I'm glad you enjoyed this shot. I don't know the Dolomites well. I have been there a few times and in fact I have a splendid memory, also linked to particularly happy moments.
Thank you very much for your favorable comment
A warm greeting and good Sunday

Thank you very much Robertopitt, I am very pleased for your kind and favorable comment to this historical document.
I hope too, strongly that this difficult period improves us, but I am a little skeptical. Now that we're getting out of it, I see a general tendency to want to go back to the way we used to.
Thank you very much for your words, thank you very much
A warm greeting

Crazy... documents like this... a typical example of how time will never make us forget these valiant and their deeds... photography, whatever it may be, knows how to annihilate forgetfulness, becoming irrefutable proof of the deeds of those who unfortunately are no longer there... and many times it also becomes an incredible surprise in rediscovering it, filling us with intimate joy...
Reaementing arrangements!
Ciaooo! :-P ;-)

Hello Fulvio, I am pleased with your appreciation to this shot, historical document, for me especially dear because family heritage.
I like your thoughts on "photography that can annihilate forgetfulness" thus managing to remember and celebrate those who are no longer there ;-)
This collection of photos includes prints and negatives, of some images I found one and the other. Definitely better preserved the first ones, but some negatives contain fascinating images, so I'm restoring those too. Patience work, but it is giving me satisfaction, as you write: "an incredible surprise in rediscovering them"
Thank you very much for your comment.
A warm greeting
Sergio

Hello Pires, a photo of about 100 years ago, on the back of some, I found, in pencil, noted some thoughts, sometimes the date. Shots from 1916-1918. Some maybe from the 1940s. Yet despite the fact that a century has passed, or so, they return to the present day, then, as today, men who fight for collective health and in particular for our beautiful Italy.
I thank you very much Pires for your beautiful comment
A greeting
Sergio

A beautiful document of a recent past and a nice tribute to the medical professionals engaged at this very difficult time.
